But as Luka approaches step five – the moment of confession – dangerous truths emerge\, threatening the trust on which both of their recoveries depend. \nFinn den Hertog directs the provocative and entertaining production filmed live from @sohoplace on London’s West End. \n★★★★★ “Raw\, excruciating and often alarmingly funny” – Daily Mail (UK) \n“Two actors at the top of their game” – Evening Standard \nPart of Arts in the Afternoon\, which is sponsored by Dr. James & Marcia Merrins

SUMMARY:Live at the Met: Tristan Und Isolde
DESCRIPTION:After years of anticipation\, a truly unmissable event arrives in cinemas worldwide as the electrifying Lise Davidsen tackles one of the ultimate roles for dramatic soprano: the Irish princess Isolde in Richard Wagner’s transcendent meditation on love and death. Heroic tenor Michael Spyres stars opposite Davidsen as the love-drunk Tristan. \nThe momentous occasion also marks the advent of a new\, Met-debut staging by Yuval Sharon – hailed by The New York Times as “the most visionary opera director of his generation” and the first American to direct an opera at the famed Wagner festival in Bayreuth – as well as Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s first time leading Tristan und Isolde at the Met. \nMezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova reprises her portrayal of Brangäne\, alongside bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny\, who sings Kurwenal after celebrated Met appearances in Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer and Ring cycle. Bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green makes an important role debut as King Marke. \nThe Met: Live in HD is the Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award–winning series of opera performances transmitted live from the stage of the Met in New York into movie theaters and event spaces worldwide. The series has made the Met the world’s leading provider of alternative cinema content and the only arts institution with an ongoing global series of this scale. When the series launched in 2006\, the Met was the first arts company to experiment this way. Since then\, the program has expanded\, with more than 32 million tickets sold to date\, and has been seen in virtually every important world capital from Paris to Cairo\, as well as in towns and villages spread across six continents. \nPart of Arts in the Afternoon\, which is sponsored by Dr. James M. & Marcia Merrins\, Live at the Met is underwritten with support from Daniel S. Kaufman and Timothy W. Beaver

SUMMARY:US Navy Band Sea Chanters
DESCRIPTION:The Navy Band Sea Chanters is the United States Navy’s official chorus. The ensemble performs a variety of music including traditional choral music\, sea chanteys\, patriotic fare\, opera\, Broadway and contemporary music. \nThe Sea Chanters regularly perform for the public in the Washington\, D.C.\, area and throughout the United States while on national tours. SUMMARY:Chautauqua County and America's 250th
DESCRIPTION:America celebrates the 250th Anniversary of its independence this year; and all across the nation events are being planned to commemorate this milestone. Chautauqua County is no different. \nThere were no Revolutionary War battles in Chautauqua County\, and precious few Native Americans and no white settlers living here\, Consequently people generally think our Revolutionary War heritage consists only of our veterans buried in local cemeteries and possibly a very few artifacts brought in by the earliest families. However\, there are half a dozen or so ways in which the land that is now Chautauqua County did have some particular relevance to the war. \nChautauqua County Historian Norman Carlson will examine these ways in this talk. From the personal notebook of Eliakim Garfield which documented events between 1771 and 1797\, including the outbreak of the Revolutionary War\, and now resides at the Fenton Historical Center in Jamestown\, to Continental currency notes from 1776 that were used to finance the war later found in Ripley\, to suspicion that alleged turncoat Simon Ginty lived for a time in Chautauqua County. These connections and more will be explored by Carlson. \nCarlson has been Chautauqua County’s Historian since 2024. He has extensive experience in the field having spent nearly 30 years as Collections Manager at the Fenton History Center in Jamestown and having been highly active in various local history organizations. Notably\, he has volunteered with the Busti Historical Society for more than 50 years and has been involved with the Busti Bicentennial Committee\, reflecting his dedication to preserving and promoting local history. \nPart of Here & There – Chautauqua County History\, Travelers\, & Memories \nAdmission is FREE\, although donations are gratefully accepted

SUMMARY:Live at the Met: I Puritani
DESCRIPTION:For gorgeous melody\, spellbinding coloratura\, and virtuoso vocal fireworks\, I Puritani has few equals. \nFor the first new Met production of Vincenzo Bellini’s final masterpiece in nearly 50 years – a striking staging by Charles Edwards\, who makes his company directorial debut after many successes as a set designer – the Met has assembled a world-beating quartet of stars\, conducted by Marco Armiliato\, for the demanding principal roles. \nSoprano Lisette Oropesa and tenor Lawrence Brownlee are Elvira and Arturo\, brought together by love and torn apart by the political rifts of the English Civil War\, with baritone Artur Ruciński as Riccardo\, betrothed to Elvira against her will\, and bass-baritone Christian Van Horn as Elvira’s sympathetic uncle\, Giorgio. Beaver

He has also released two comedy albums\, GIVE IT A REST and MADE FOR RADIO. \nPete is also the co-host of The Pete and Sebastian Show\, a podcast with comedian and longtime friend Sebastian Maniscalco. \nThe Pete and Sebastian Show is one of the most wildly popular comedy podcasts on air today.  The show is nearly10 years running\, with an ever-growing fanbase and has featured guests including Bill Burr\, Jay Mohr\, Bobby Lee\, Yannis Pappas\, Billy Gardell\, and more! \nAside from his podcast\, Pete has been a staff writer on several TV shows\, most recently Kevin Can Wait on CBS\, and The Crew on Netflix. \nPete’s love for entertainment started when he went off to college.  During his senior year\, Pete took an acting class and knew immediately what he wanted to do – be in show business.  This burning desire has evolved for over 20 years into what we know it as today – a reflective comedic take on his life and the experiences he’s been through. \nWith a conversational delivery and his trademark disarming regular guy attitude\, Pete makes you feel like you’re listening to the funniest guy at a party as opposed to just another comedian on a stage. \nHis tours continue to grow exponentially as more and more people discover him and immediately fall in love with his accessible and extremely relatable point of view. \nBecause of this\, Pete has evolved from being a must-see on the club scene to now a nationally recognized headlining theater act. \nMost recently he’s coming off of Sebastian Maniscalco’s record-breaking “It Ain’t Right” arena tour where he has been capturing the eyes and ears of fans all over the country.

SUMMARY:Snowman & Coole: Super-Deluxe Fiddle\, Banjo & Song
DESCRIPTION:Through 25 years and thousands of shows together in bands such as The Foggy Hogtown Boys\, and The Lonesome Ace Stringband\, John Showman and Chris Coole have developed a deep and instinctual musical bond. Their music lurks in a truly unique space that is somewhere on the outskirts of old-time\, bluegrass\, and folk. The songs of John Hartford\, Hank Williams\, Dock Boggs\, and The Band share space with the fiddle tunes of Eck Robertson\, and Ed Haley. The duo’s original songs and tunes take in all these vistas and paint something both personal and timely. \nThey have performed across North America and Europe at festivals such as Merlefest\, Rockygrass\, Winnipeg Folk Festival\, Mariposa\, Wintergrass\, Gooikroots\, and The John Hartford Memorial Festival. In 2022\, the duo released two albums: Afield\, a collection of old-time fiddle tunes\, and Much Further Out than Inevitable – A Tribute to Some Music of John Hartford. \nShowman has made his mark as “one of the very best and most influential fiddle players in Canada.” (CIUT 89.5 FM). Over a 20-year career spanning 4\,500 shows across North America and Europe\, he’s become well-known as an exciting and innovative live musician and in demand as a session player\, a sideman and teacher. \nFrom his start as a professional in Montreal in 1996\, playing five nights a week in Irish pubs and folk clubs across eastern Canada\, Showman fell in love with the sound of traditional fiddle playing\, absorbing the playing of such greats as Tommy Peoples\, Kevin Burke\, Frankie Gavin\, Vassar Clements\, Eck Robertson and many others. Through careful study of written transcriptions and old recordings and a relentless pursuit of accurate reproduction\, he built his repertoire of tunes\, chops\, styles\, and technique\, and developed a sound and approach that is unique\, one that can relate to many genres of music. \nHe is the 2011 Appalachian Old-Time Fiddle Champion\, the first foreign-born man to ever win the contest; and his albums have been nominated for Juno Awards and won multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards. \nSince falling in love with the sound of folk and early country music at the age of 17\, one could loosely divide Coole’s 30-year career as a full-time musician into three eras – 10 years as a Toronto street and subway busker; 10 years playing bluegrass residencies around Toronto’s bar scene; and 10 years touring internationally. Throughout this musical journey\, he has perhaps become best known as being one of the leading purveyors of the modern clawhammer-style banjo. He has developed a highly personal style that is often described as instantly recognizable. \nCoole wrote his first song at the age of 7 – a 6/8 dirge about Wayne Gretzky. Since that auspicious and uniquely Canadian beginning\, he has continued to hone his craft\, and to date\, has recorded more than 50 original songs and instrumentals. Apart from appearing on his own projects\, his songs have been covered and recorded by artists such as Eli West\, Jenny Whiteley\, The Grasscals\, and The Sweet Lowdown. \nA sought-after teacher of banjo\, guitar\, and songwriting at workshops and festivals throughout Canada\, the U.S.\, and Europe\, these days he spends most of his time playing banjo with John Showman and The Lonesome Ace Stringband. \nThe Folk in Fredonia Music Series is sponsored by the Gilman Family

SUMMARY:Barcelona Harbor: 1800-1860

SUMMARY:Spinal Tap 2 @ 1891 Fredonia Opera House
DESCRIPTION:Forty-one years after the release of the groundbreaking mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap\, the now estranged bandmates David St. Hubbins\, Nigel Tufnel\, and Derek Smalls (Michael McKean\, Christopher Guest\, and Harry Shearer) are forced to reunite for one final concert. Spinal Tap II: The End Continues also marks the resurrection of documentarian Marty Di Bergi (Rob Reiner)\, who once again tries to capture his favorite metal gods as they contemplate mortality—and the hope that their 12th drummer doesn’t join them in The Great Beyond. Joined by music royalty Paul McCartney and Elton John\, Spinal Tap wrestles with their checkered past to put on a concert that they hope will solidify their place in the pantheon of rock ’n’ roll. \n“Spinal Tap II holds onto the real sense that these men\, despite everything they’ve been through\, have loved each other almost their entire lives. Guest and McKean in particular met in college in the late 1960s\, and they’ve been playing music together ever since; there’s something beautiful about the fact that they’ve found their way to this moment\, after so many decades — one where the only laughter they care about is each other’s.” – Consequence \nRated R (Some Sexual References|Language)\, 83 mins. \nThe Opera House Cinema Series is sponsored by Lake Shore Savings Bank \n  \nCinema Series tickets are sold at the door only.  A book of 10 movie passes can be purchased separately at the Box Office\, online or at the door on movie night for $60. \nTickets Information:\nAdults – $7\nMembers/Seniors – $6.50\nStudents – $5

SUMMARY:Live at the Met: La Sonnambula
DESCRIPTION:Following triumphant Live in HD performances in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette\, Verdi’s La Traviata\, and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor\, Nadine Sierra summits another peak of the soprano repertoire as Amina\, who sleepwalks her way into audiences’ hearts in Vincenzo Bellini’s poignant tale of love lost and found. \nIn his new production\, Rolando Villazón – the tenor who has embarked on a brilliant second career as a director – retains the opera’s original setting in the Swiss Alps\, but uses its somnambulant plot to explore the emotional and psychological valleys of the mind. \nTenor Xabier Anduaga co-stars as Amina’s fiancé\, Elvino\, alongside soprano Sydney Mancasola as her rival\, Lisa\, and bass Alexander Vinogradov as Count Rodolfo. Riccardo Frizza takes the podium for one of opera’s most ravishing works. Beaver
