Food Pantries & Meals

The Fred Basket is a food pantry that works with organizations to provide a joyful, loving environment to serve people: mind, body & soul. Guests can receive one helping per month.

 

Open Wednesdays 12:30 – 4:30 PM & 3rd Saturdays from 10 AM – 12 PM.

The Jamestown Farmers Market is one of 5 local markets that accept SNAP Benefits. They are currently handing out $15 worth of free food to SNAP recipients during the government shutdown.
 
The market is located on 3rd St. in Jamestown, NY, and in the basement of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 410 N. Main St. in Jamestown during the winter months. Saturdays from 9 AM – 1 PM.
FeedMore WNY is based in Buffalo, NY, but provides services for all of WNY, including Chautauqua County.
 
Their Farm Market has 3 food trucks that travel throughout WNY and provide healthy, low-cost fruits and vegetables to individuals who may otherwise not have access to them.
 
The truck visits the YWCA in Westfield on Wednesdays from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. They also visit the Anderson-Lee Library on Thursdays from 11 AM – 12 PM.
Conduit Ministries has been serving the Jamestown community and surrounding areas for a few years now with their food truck at Brooklyn Square from 3 – 4:30 PM.
 
They also run a Thanksgiving meal giveaway with the hopes of serving 1,700 meals across 12 church sites. You can donate towards their cause by clicking the button below.

Food Assistance Programs

The Cornell Cooperative Extension is a wonderful program that helps promote local food security, agriculture, youth development, and nutrition.
 
They put together a great page of resources, like setting up your New York State Benefit account, applying for SNAP and WIC, and many other food resources.
