Surrounded by the living beauty of Royal Fern Nursery\, you’ll be immersed in a collection of world-class instruments — gongs\, bowls\, chimes\, and more — played with intention to guide your body out of the noise of daily life and into genuine stillness. \nThere’s nothing to do and nothing to get right. You lie down\, get comfortable\, and let the sound do the work. Some people drift into deep meditation\, some fall asleep\, some feel waves of emotion move through. Every experience is unique\, and every experience is welcome. \nYour facilitators\, Joseph Anderson and Jessica Boergers\, hold this space together. Joseph is a certified Wim Hof Method instructor\, sound practitioner\, and breathwork facilitator who has traveled the US and the world facilitating for thousands upon thousands of individuals — keeping every session highly explorative\, yet simple and safe for all\, whether it’s your first sound bath or your fiftieth. \n AN EVENING THAT GIVES BACK \n RAIN OR SHINEClear evening? SUMMARY:Citizen Science Mushroom ID Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand! Join Rej (amateur mycology enthusiast) for a FREE workshop where we discuss techniques for identifying mushrooms and practice what we learn in the field. Techniques covered will include observing the mushroom’s physical characteristics and environment\, its reaction to UV light and chemical reagents\, and if all else fails\, DNA sequencing. Starting with a walk through the woods behind the Botany Barn\, we will discuss what details to pay attention to in the field and how to take good photos for identification purposes. Especially interesting or tough to identify mushrooms will be collected to examine more closely back at the Botany Barn after the walk. We will also go over how to submit mushrooms for DNA sequencing as part of Mycota Labs’ 2026 summer continental mycoblitz (more information about Mycota Labs can be found here: https://mycota.com/continental-mycoblitz/). Voucher slips for submissions will be provided. An iNaturalist account is required for those interested in sending their collections for DNA sequencing. \nSince we will be walking through field and forest\, please dress accordingly. Trail is not difficult\, but ground is uneven and sometimes muddy in certain areas. \nSpace is limited so do not delay in registering!
