DESCRIPTION:10-10:30 I Will Survive \nIt was supposed to be a ‘quick’ hike on a wooded path; but losing track of time\, darkness\, and weather it becomes a fight for survival. Do you know what to do; what to take to win this fight? In this program we will learn techniques our ancestors used to survive\, along with a few modern ones\, and figure out what to look for and where to look. \n10:45–11:15 \nSurvival Paracord Bracelet: This family-friendly craft program teaches how to make survival paracord bracelets. Participants will learn the basics of knotting and how these bracelets can be used in emergency situations. It’s a fun\, hands-on activity. \n12:30-1:30 \nProgram Black Bears: This educational program offers an engaging exploration of black bears\, focusing on their behavior\, habitat\, and role in the ecosystem. Participants will learn about their diet\, physical characteristics\, and how they interact with their environment.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 30\, 2025\, at 6:30-8:00 pmMUSIC – MEET THE BACONS“Meet the Bacons” is the husband/wife music duo of Joe & Robin Bacon. The couple has performed together at festivals\, music venues and events in Western New York for over 10 years. They draw influences from many great vocal duos\, like Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash\, Simon and Garfunkel\, and Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris. Their music style includes classic country\, rock\, bluegrass\, blues and folk (more easily described as Americana music).“Meet the Bacons” have a sound composed of charming vocal harmonies backed with guitar\, harmonica\, and hand percussion (tambourine\, shakers\, etc.). They write and perform their own songs as well as songs by other artists that have intrigued and inspired them over the years. Their own songs include stories about New Orleans Street parades\, loves cherished and abandoned\, memories sparked by misplaced funeral cards\, disconnected veterans of war\, blues of the working musician\, rye whiskey woes and the colorful summer dresses of a true love. Meet outside of the Recreation Hall.
