By 9:00 a.m. the Market is bustling with shoppers. People begin to filling up the café area where they sip coffee or lemonade and catch up on the local news. There’s tables to sit at under the trees to watch live music in the gazebo. \nWhat’s available? Every summer Saturday\, shoppers find locally grown produce\, fresh eggs\, pork\, beef\, chicken\, honey and maple syrup\, jam\, jelly\, and baked goods. Rounding out the offerings are Amish baskets\, locally produced salsa and dressings\, handmade clothing\, purses\, throw rugs\, jewelry\, stained glass\, paintings\, craft items and the published literary works by local authors. Prepared foods suitable for breakfast and lunch and hot and cold beverages are also available. Also be sure to visit the Westfield Flea\, an antiques and vintage market on the other side of the park. \nMarket schedule and hours. The Market season opens May 23th\, 2025 and continues until September 26th\, 2025. DESCRIPTION:Michigan artist Lisa L. Grix (Aug 3rd – Aug 8th) has been involved in the art scene around the Metro Detroit area for many years. Schooled in art at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center\, Lahser High School and Central Michigan University\, she has dabbled in many mediums. \nSince 2005 Lisa has been creating Grixdolls. They are mixed media dolls loosely based on African talisman dolls. Every Grixdoll is named and carries a energy\, intent or purpose. Each piece is made from recycled or repurposed materials. Many pieces are made from vintage metal pressings\, pine needles\, sticks\, vintage fabric and buttons. \nShe has finally combined her knowledge of art history\, color\, textile\, collecting and assembly skills to arrive at pieces she is very passionate about.
