Travel by horse-drawn carriage and uncover some of the over 43\,000 personal stories hidden within the cemetery. This tour changes year by year; no two tours will ever be the same. Returning guests would agree that the costumed actors who guide this tour make this experience the total package. \nThis year’s carriage tours are October 3 and 10 and there are several time slots. Tours leave every hour. Tickets often sell quickly\, so please visit www.fentonhistorycenter.org to get your tickets online (they will be sent via email) or call the Fenton at (716) 664-6256 and we can process ticket sales over the phone. All tickets are $25 each. There is no reserving tickets and payment is required in order for you to reserve your spots. These tours will be held rain or shine. SUMMARY:Kite Making Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, October 10\, from 1-2 pm for a kite-making workshop! Participants will decorate their own wind sled kite\, a simple frame-free kite that uses the wind to inflate its curved shape and fly easily. A wide array of art supplies will be on hand for participants to decorate their kits: markers\, crayons\, paints\, etc.! Instructor Mike Jabot\, SUNY Distinguished Professor in Education\, will be on hand to explain how scientists use kites to study the lower atmosphere\, and how animals such as birds use it\, too! After kite decorating\, participants can take their new creations outside and get them flying. \nAbout Mike JabotMike Jabot has done a variety of things. From teaching kindergarten kids\, all the way to “kids” exploring new adventures after retirement. He works with NASA on how we can make sense of data received from Earth orbiting satellites and how we can design systems that inform these satellite data. One of the interesting ways we can do this is through kites and that is where our session will start. Mike Jabot is a US partner of the NASA GLOBE Program and a NASA Earth Ambassador.

SUMMARY:Mausoleum Tours - 2026 Saints and Sinner Cemetery Tours
DESCRIPTION:This guided behind-the-scenes tour of several of the elegant mausoleums and grave-sites in the Lake View Cemetery in Jamestown\, New York\, is almost as popular as the annual Saints and Sinners tour. The Lake View Cemetery\, established in 1859\, comes alive as costumed actors tell spirited tales of the individuals and their families who are laid to rest in the grave-sites and mausoleums to be featured. Guests are served light refreshments directly after the tour. \nThis year’s mausoleum tours are held on Sunday\, October 11\, 2026 and there are several time slots. Tours leave every half hour. Tickets often sell quickly\, so please visit www.fentonhistorycenter.org to get your tickets online (they will be sent via email) or call the Fenton at (716) 664-6256 and we can process ticket sales over the phone. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. There is no reserving tickets and payment is required in order for you to reserve your spots. These tours will be held rain or shine. This is a fundraiser and no refunds will be issued unless the event is cancelled.
