SUMMARY:20th Year of the Westfield Farmers' Market
DESCRIPTION:A must stop! Voted Best Farmers’ Market in New York State! \nMoore Park awakens early on summer Saturdays as farmers and artisans gather on the village green to create the weekly festival that is the award winning Westfield Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market. Voted 15th best farmers market in the USA and Best in New York by American Farmland Trust. \nTrucks full of fresh fruits and vegetables\, meats and eggs and cars loaded to the roof with handmade goods line the curb as vendors work diligently to set up their stalls in the tree-shaded park. By 9:00 a.m. the Market is bustling with shoppers. People begin to filling up the café area where they sip coffee or lemonade and catch up on the local news. There’s tables to sit at under the trees to watch live music in the gazebo. \nWhat’s available? Every summer Saturday\, shoppers find locally grown produce\, fresh eggs\, pork\, beef\, chicken\, honey and maple syrup\, jam\, jelly\, and baked goods. Rounding out the offerings are Amish baskets\, locally produced salsa and dressings\, handmade clothing\, purses\, throw rugs\, jewelry\, stained glass\, paintings\, craft items and the published literary works by local authors. Prepared foods suitable for breakfast and lunch and hot and cold beverages are also available. Also be sure to visit the Westfield Flea\, an antiques and vintage market on the other side of the park. \nMarket schedule and hours. The Market season opens May 23th\, 2025 and continues until September 26th\, 2025. October Saturdays are weather dependent. Market hours are 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. We’re easy to find\, Moore Park center of Westfield.

SUMMARY:Observe the Moon Night
DESCRIPTION:Free and open to everyone — International Observe the Moon Night\, Saturday\, September 19 at 7:30 PM. \n\nYou’ll be one of more than a million people in 127 countries looking up at the same thing on the same night.\nWe’ll hand you a Moon map to take home. We’ll teach you what to call the shapes you’re seeing. We’ll explain why the far side looks like a completely different world — and why nobody should be calling it the “dark side.”\nAnd yes\, we’re settling the cheese question once and for all.\n Door prizes for kids and adults\, including a large 3D internally lit Moon globe.\n Telescopes if the sky cooperates. The Moon will be just past half lit that evening — the best phase of the whole month to look at it. Shadows stretch long across the craters and the mountains stand up in relief. Far better than a full Moon.\n Cloudy or clear\, the program runs either way.\n Dress for outdoors — the domes aren’t heated and some scopes go outside.\nAdmission is free. If you enjoy the evening\, there’s a donation bowl by the door and a link on our website — donations are what keep the telescopes running and our programs free for everyone.\n\n Martz-Kohl Observatory · 176 Robbin Hill Rd\, Frewsburg NY \n martzobservatory.org
