DESCRIPTION:Starting Wednesday\, July 1st\, we’re opening the doors to a new weekly comedy open mic at Wicked Warren’s Jamestown. \nEvery Wednesday from 7PM to 9PM\, we’ll be upstairs on the 3rd floor in the new ballroom\, bar\, and stage area\, trying to do something simple and weirdly important: \nBuild the local comedy and art scene back up from the floorboards. \nThis is a comedian-focused open mic\, but all art is welcome. Comedy\, poetry\, storytelling\, music\, strange little performance experiments\, something you wrote on a napkin in a parking lot while your life briefly became a weather event. Bring it up. \nSign ups start at 6:30PM. \nEach performer gets 8 minutes. \nThere will be a 15 minute hard cap if the night allows for longer pieces\, but please plan for 8 unless told otherwise. \nIf you need anything beyond a mic\, stage\, and PA\, please let Paul Clemente know ahead of time. \nIf you want to sign up in advance\, let Paul Clemente know. \nIf you don’t know Paul Clemente\, get to know him. SUMMARY:Open Observatory Night
DESCRIPTION:At 7:30 the Martz-Kohl Observatories will be open to visitors. \nYou are welcome to tour the facility and view through several available telescopes\, weather permitting.  The observatory houses multiple telescopes to use for viewing celestial objects in the night sky.  The Kohl Telescope is a 20-inch classical Cassegrain reflecting telescope that was built by DFM Engineering in Colorado.  Also available for viewing\, located in the roll-off roof area of the observatory\, is a mounted 12-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector telescope.  The Cassegrain reflector telescopes use a combination of the primary concave mirror and a secondary convex mirror.  Guests are also welcome to bring in their own telescopes to set up on the roll off roof area of the observatory\, weather permitting. \nWhen planning a visit to the observatory\, it is best to have seasonal attire on hand as the domes which house the telescopes\, as well as the roll-off roof area of the observatory\, are not heated.  \nThe observatory is located at 176 Robbins Hill Rd.\, Frewsburg\, NY.  The Martz-Kohl Observatory is an all-volunteer\, non-profit association [501(c)3] and does not charge for admission.  A non-member donation of $5.00 per adult and $2.00 per child or student is appreciated. \nThe Martz-Kohl Observatory houses one of the largest public robotic telescopes in the Northeastern United States.  On Open Observatory nights\, the public is welcome to come and tour the facility.  If the evening sky is clear\, the telescopes will be used to view the celestial sphere.  The observatory can be contacted at (716) 569-3689.  More information can be accessed at the observatory web site\, martzobservatory.org. \nAbout Martz-Kohl Observatory: \nThe Marshal Martz Memorial Astronomical Association\, Inc. is a non-profit organization devoted to the amateur astronomer. The emphasis of the association is observational astronomy\, well-rooted in public education and enjoyment of the starry skies.

DESCRIPTION:Friday\, December 18\, 2026 | 7:30 PM | General Admission \nCome celebrate the holiday season with the Tower Brass Quintet\, as the popular group brings a family-friendly program of carols and familiar tunes to the Opera House. \nFor 40 years\, the Tower Brass Quintet has creatively and progressively shaped its reputation as a premier chamber music ensemble\, delighting a broad spectrum of audiences with its unique style of programming and performance. \nCritics and presenters have consistently praised Tower Brass for the innovative nature of its concert repertoire\, superb musicianship\, and engaging stage presence. Each Tower Brass concert program is thoughtfully planned to offer the audience a blend of entertainment and discovery\, and is skillfully presented by five gifted and versatile performers. \n​The Tower Brass Quintet is a favorite among Northwest Ohio audiences. Founded in 1979\, the members have given more than 500 performances in 25 states and have collaborated with several of the world’s other premiere brass ensembles\, including the London\, Budapest\, Annapolis and American Brass Quintets. Tower Brass concerts and recordings have been heard on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered\, the American Composer’s Alliance Series\, Voice of America\, Hungarian State Radio\, and WNCN in New York. The Quintet has released 10 recordings and also can be heard on a compilation disc entitled “Convergence” released by Parma Recordings\, NYC.

DESCRIPTION:Join Sukanya Burman Dance for a Prenatal Yoga Class with instructor Kara Bemis\, held on the last Sunday of each month from 10 to 11 AM at 106 E 2nd Street\, Jamestown\, NY. Each hour-long class offers a safe opportunity to move and connect with your body and your growing baby\, with yoga providing beneficial movement\, mental stamina\, and breath work to aid in labor and delivery. Every session ends with a relaxing\, guided meditation to connect with baby and release stress — great for both first-time expectant parents and busy parents with other littles. It’s also a wonderful place to meet other expecting parents and build community with those experiencing similar life changes. Classes are held October 25\, November 29\, and December 27\, with a $18 class fee. Registration is preferred\, but drop-ins are welcome!
