Jackson Center and the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will present a special community screening of Nuremberg (2025) on Friday\, January 30\, 2026\, followed by a live talk-back with author Jack El-Hai\, whose book\, The Nazi and the Psychiatrist\, inspired the film. \nDoors open at 5:00 p.m. and the film begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts\, 116 E. Third Street\, Jamestown. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Jack El-Hai\, who will discuss the true historical events behind the film and the continuing significance of the Nuremberg Trials. \nDirected by James Vanderbilt and starring Russell Crowe\, Rami Malek\, Michael Shannon\, Colin Hanks\, and John Slattery\, Nuremberg dramatizes the true story of U.S. Army psychiatrist Dr. Douglas M. Kelley\, who examined Nazi war criminals awaiting trial in 1945. His psychological interviews with figures such as Hermann Göring raised enduring questions about guilt\, responsibility\, and the nature of evil. \nRobert H. Jackson\, as played by Michael Shannon\, is a key figure in the story and provides the legal framework\, rationale\, and prosecution for the International Military Tribunal\, which opened 80 years ago on November 20\, 1945. \nTickets for the January 30 screening and discussion will be available through the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts box office and online at: https://ci.ovationtix.com/36182/production/1255745… \nMore information is available here: https://www.roberthjackson.org/event/nuremberg/ \nThe theater and box office at The Reg are located at 116 E. 3rd St. in Jamestown\, NY. The box office is open Mondays\, Wednesdays\, and Fridays 12–5 p.m. and one hour before movies and events. \nThis event is part of the Robert H. Jackson Center’s ongoing effort to promote public understanding of justice\, human rights\, and the rule of law—principles that Justice Jackson\, Chief U.S. Prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials\, helped define for the modern world. \nReg Lenna Center for The Arts is at the heart of the arts and cultural district in Jamestown NY. The Reg showcases a wide variety of events including live concerts\, movies\, ballet\, orchestras\, gallery shows and more. The center includes a 1\,165-seat historic theater\, a multi-media arts studio\, pre-function event space\, Bill’s Place – home of the 1878 Buffalo Bill Billboard\, 3rd On 3rd Art Gallery and WRFA-LP 107.9 FM low power community radio station. The Reg showcases a wide variety of events\, workshops\, gallery shows and is utilized by many community organizations.

SUMMARY:ICE Out Protest @ Dow Park
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a peaceful demonstration on Saturday from 11-2 at Dow Park in Jamestown. We will have invited speakers starting at 11:15 with a street protest to follow (12-2). We are expecting extremely cold weather so make sure to dress appropriately.Donations for the New Neighbors Coalition will be accepted throughout. \nAlex Pretti was killed during an ICE enforcement operation. This was not immigration enforcement. This was Americans with guns firing repeatedly at another American. Alex Pretti was a U.S. citizen\, killed by other U.S. citizens acting under federal authority. When Americans are killed by their own government\, we should call it what it is: state violence.ICE is operating as an occupying force in American cities\, trampling on constitutional rights\, treating neighborhoods as hostile territory and residents as expendable. This is the same imperialism this administration has shown abroad\, now turned inward. The violence we are seeing is not rogue or accidental. It has been sanctioned from the top\, encouraged by a president who has made fear\, force\, and punishment central to his agenda.

SUMMARY:Meet Your Neighbors - Exhibition Program with Niall Benvie
DESCRIPTION:How often does a Scotsman living in the south of France visit western New York? \nNiall Benvie\, an exceptional environmental photographer and co-founder of the Meet Your Neighbours project\, will be joining us via Zoom on Saturday\, January 31\, at 12 pm (a 40-minute presentation followed by 10 minutes for questions/comments). Seating and a viewing screen will be set up in the Green Gallery\, and the public may speak with Benvie in real time during the presentation. Viewers may also engage with the Zoom at home. Light refreshments will be available in the RTPI lobby. \nBenvie’s program will focus on his Environmental Impact Award-winning project now on display at RTPI\, Meet Your Neighbours: how the project got its start\, and an astonishing survey of images from the project that expands on the photographs displayed in the museum. Meet Your Neighbours uses portraiture photography intended to take the viewer’s breath away. Each subject is photographed in the field\, against a white background brought onto the scene. This technique not only shows the subject in great detail\, but reveals their translucent qualities too. Each subject becomes a celebrity\, an individual. \nFounded in 2009\, Meet Your Neighbours is a worldwide photographic initiative created by Niall Benvie and Clay Bolt. The project reconnects people with the wildlife on their own doorsteps. These creatures and plants are vital: they represent the first\, and for some\, the only contact with wild nature we have. Yet too often they are overlooked\, undervalued. This is conservation photography at the grass-roots level\, asking people to care about where they live and showing them how extraordinary it is in a novel way.

SUMMARY:Water Safety Series - DNA of a River
DESCRIPTION:Our waterways are always changing. This workshop will focus on what makes up our local creeks and river\, how water reacts to those things\, and how to decipher and recognize the safest path. \nThe off-season is a great time to learn more about water safety. Utilizing our “river in a bag\,” we’ll have a hands-on discussion covering how water reacts to river features (downstream and upstream V\, eddy\, eddy lines\, hydraulics\, holes\, seams and standing waves\, etc); and hazards – both natural (sweepers\, deadheads\, strainers)\, and man-made (bridges\, low-head dams\, dredged areas). We’ll focus on how these affect the paddling experience and how they change at different water levels. We’ll reference these features and hazards with photos and videos from local waterways including the Allegheny River\, Clarion River\, Brokenstraw Creek\, and Conewango Creek. \nPlease note – this is a classroom workshop. We will not be on the water. Limited seats available. Reservations required. Please click on “tickets” or visit: https://www.alleghenyoutfitters.com/winter-2026-workshops
