DESCRIPTION:Starting Wednesday\, July 1st\, we’re opening the doors to a new weekly comedy open mic at Wicked Warren’s Jamestown. \nEvery Wednesday from 7PM to 9PM\, we’ll be upstairs on the 3rd floor in the new ballroom\, bar\, and stage area\, trying to do something simple and weirdly important: \nBuild the local comedy and art scene back up from the floorboards. \nThis is a comedian-focused open mic\, but all art is welcome. Comedy\, poetry\, storytelling\, music\, strange little performance experiments\, something you wrote on a napkin in a parking lot while your life briefly became a weather event. Bring it up. \nSign ups start at 6:30PM. \nEach performer gets 8 minutes. \nThere will be a 15 minute hard cap if the night allows for longer pieces\, but please plan for 8 unless told otherwise. \nIf you need anything beyond a mic\, stage\, and PA\, please let Paul Clemente know ahead of time. \nIf you want to sign up in advance\, let Paul Clemente know. \nIf you don’t know Paul Clemente\, get to know him. Members of the band will also be taking part in the 4th of July parade in Mayville\, the Ellington Town Picnic and the CLSC parade at Chautauqua Institution.\nReminder that all the concerts in Allen Park are free and run from 7-9 PM\, and the programs are subject to change if we have a rainout. If we do have to cancel due to rain\, updates will be posted here on this page. Please like us on Facebook so you don’t miss any updates. We would like to get 1000 followers-we are almost there!\n\nAnd last but never least\, the Allen Park Woman’s Club will be there selling refreshments to support the great work they do in supporting the Allen Park area!

DESCRIPTION:At 7:30 the Martz-Kohl Observatories will be open to visitors. \nYou are welcome to tour the facility and view through several available telescopes\, weather permitting.  The observatory houses multiple telescopes to use for viewing celestial objects in the night sky.  The Kohl Telescope is a 20-inch classical Cassegrain reflecting telescope that was built by DFM Engineering in Colorado.  Also available for viewing\, located in the roll-off roof area of the observatory\, is a mounted 12-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector telescope.  The Cassegrain reflector telescopes use a combination of the primary concave mirror and a secondary convex mirror.  Guests are also welcome to bring in their own telescopes to set up on the roll off roof area of the observatory\, weather permitting. \nWhen planning a visit to the observatory\, it is best to have seasonal attire on hand as the domes which house the telescopes\, as well as the roll-off roof area of the observatory\, are not heated.  \nThe observatory is located at 176 Robbins Hill Rd.\, Frewsburg\, NY.  The Martz-Kohl Observatory is an all-volunteer\, non-profit association [501(c)3] and does not charge for admission.  A non-member donation of $5.00 per adult and $2.00 per child or student is appreciated. \nThe Martz-Kohl Observatory houses one of the largest public robotic telescopes in the Northeastern United States.  On Open Observatory nights\, the public is welcome to come and tour the facility.  If the evening sky is clear\, the telescopes will be used to view the celestial sphere.  The observatory can be contacted at (716) 569-3689.  More information can be accessed at the observatory web site\, martzobservatory.org. \nAbout Martz-Kohl Observatory: \nThe Marshal Martz Memorial Astronomical Association\, Inc. is a non-profit organization devoted to the amateur astronomer.
