SUMMARY:Jamestown's Trolley #93 Marks 100th Birthday
DESCRIPTION:The Jamestown Street Railway Trolley Car #93 marks its 100th birthday this year. \nPut in service in 1926\, it was one of the many street cars that serviced passengers somewhere within Erie County\, NY\, Erie County\, PA\, and Chautauqua County. It is arguably the last surviving stand-alone car remaining from these areas. \nA group of volunteers has been working since 2014 to restore the trolley car\, a project that is now nearing completion. While pretty much cosmetically restored\, there is still some work to be done on the trucks (the four railroad type wheel assembly that supports the trolley on the rails)\, but that is waiting on the completion of its final display location. Plans for a display building in conjunction with the Fenton History Center are moving forward \, while fundraising for the project continues toward providing all that is necessary to ensure that this last remaining piece of Chautauqua County streetcar history is preserved. \nProject Volunteer Bob Johnston will talk about this important piece of Chautauqua County history and provide more information on its status and plans to celebrate its 100th birthday. \nPart of Here & There – Chautauqua County History\, Travelers\, & Memories \nAdmission is FREE\, although donations are gratefully accepted

SUMMARY:Nuremberg Symposium\, The Ethics and Philosophy of Prosecution: Justice vs. Revenge
DESCRIPTION:Eighty years after the Nuremberg Trials\, prosecutors remain at the heart of international justice. Yet the line between pursuing justice and seeking revenge is often fraught with complexity. This panel explores the philosophical\, ethical\, and strategic dilemmas prosecutors face when responding to mass atrocity\, war crimes\, and crimes against humanity. Through a reflective discussion\, the panelists will examine how principles of fairness\, accountability\, and deterrence are weighed against political realities and public expectations\, and what it truly means to pursue justice in a fractured world. \nSpeakers– John Q. Barrett – Professor of Law\, St. John’s University; Elizabeth S. Lenna Fellow\, Robert H. Jackson Center– David M. Crane – Founding Chief Prosecutor\, Special Court for Sierra Leone; Professor of Practice\, Syracuse University College of Law

SUMMARY:Junk Journal: The Rewrite Project
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wished for the chance to rewrite your story?? Not by erasing the past that shaped you\, but by transforming the old narratives that no longer serve you into one’s rooted in growth\, strength\, and self-truth? \n\nIn this 4 week series\, led by Sarah Boothe\, MSW student from the UB School of Social Work\, alongside Briana Postle\, LCSW– we will explore the creative outlet of journaling\, art\, and creative writing\, as well as the new trend known as “junk journaling” to rewrite these narratives.\nThis is a trauma-informed\, creative group that helps explore and rewrite personal stories. Centered on strengths\, resilience\, and meaning-making. This will be a safe space where sharing is always optional.\nDates: March 21\, March 28\, April 11\, April 18.\nTime: 10am-11am\nCost: $0\nLocation: 260 Central Ave. Silver Creek\, NY\n\nhttps://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/the-rewrite-project

SUMMARY:Little Explorers: Beavers\, Muskrats\, and More!
DESCRIPTION:Little Explorers (Children 3 – 8 with an adult)\nBeavers\, Muskrats\, and More! \nSaturday\, April 11\, 2026\n10:00 – 11:30 a.m. \n$12 Adults; $9 Nature Center members\n$9 Children 3 – 8 \nPaid reservations required by Thursday\, April 9\, 2026. \nLittle Explorers ages 3- 8 and their adults can join Audubon to learn more about the mammals that rely on ponds and their connecting waterways. \nSpend some time exploring these wetland spaces and you might see signs of beavers building dams\, otters catching food\, and muskrats swimming between the edge of the pond and their temporary lodges. These ponds and streams are important habitats for many aquatic mammals. \nAfter a short hands-on lesson indoors exploring the behaviors\, diets\, and habits of western NY’s wetland mammals\, head outside to search along the pond edges and look for beaver chews\, otter tracks\, and muskrat slides. \nA snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. \nSpecial Information: This program takes place rain or shine\, please dress for the weather. \nClues like beaver chews on trees and logs are an important sign that beavers are in the area\, even if the animal itself is hiding. Learn more about beavers and other wetland mammals at ACNC’s Little Explorers on April 11.
