SUMMARY:Live at the Met: El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego
DESCRIPTION:The Metropolitan Opera’s 2025-26 Live in HD season comes to a close with a live transmission of American composer Gabriela Lena Frank’s first opera\, a magical-realist portrait of Mexico’s painterly power couple Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera\, with libretto by Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright Nilo Cruz. \nFashioned as a reversal of the Orpheus and Euridice myth\, the story depicts Frida\, sung by leading mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard\, leaving the underworld on the Day of the Dead and reuniting with Diego\, portrayed by baritone Carlos Álvarez. The famously feuding pair briefly relive their tumultuous love\, embracing both the passion and the pain before bidding the land of the living a final farewell. \nMusic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts the Met-premiere staging of Frank’s opera\, a “confident\, richly imagined score” (The New Yorker) that “bursts with color and fresh individuality” (Los Angeles Times). The vibrant new production\, taking enthusiastic inspiration from Frida and Diego’s paintings\, is directed and choreographed by Deborah Colker. \nThe Met: Live in HD is the Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award–winning series of opera performances transmitted live from the stage of the Met in New York into movie theaters and event spaces worldwide. The series has made the Met the world’s leading provider of alternative cinema content and the only arts institution with an ongoing global series of this scale. When the series launched in 2006\, the Met was the first arts company to experiment this way. Since then\, the program has expanded\, with more than 32 million tickets sold to date\, and has been seen in virtually every important world capital from Paris to Cairo\, as well as in towns and villages spread across six continents. \nPart of Arts in the Afternoon\, which is sponsored by Dr. James M. & Marcia Merrins\, Live at the Met is underwritten with support from Daniel S. Kaufman and Timothy W. Beaver

SUMMARY:Live at the Met: Tristan Und Isolde
DESCRIPTION:After years of anticipation\, a truly unmissable event arrives in cinemas worldwide as the electrifying Lise Davidsen tackles one of the ultimate roles for dramatic soprano: the Irish princess Isolde in Richard Wagner’s transcendent meditation on love and death. Heroic tenor Michael Spyres stars opposite Davidsen as the love-drunk Tristan. \nThe momentous occasion also marks the advent of a new\, Met-debut staging by Yuval Sharon – hailed by The New York Times as “the most visionary opera director of his generation” and the first American to direct an opera at the famed Wagner festival in Bayreuth – as well as Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s first time leading Tristan und Isolde at the Met. \nMezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova reprises her portrayal of Brangäne\, alongside bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny\, who sings Kurwenal after celebrated Met appearances in Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer and Ring cycle. Bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green makes an important role debut as King Marke. Beaver

SUMMARY:The Diary of Anne Frank - Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown
DESCRIPTION:“In spite of everything\, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” \n\nThis February\, we invite you to join Anne Frank and her family inside the Secret Annex\, where the rules are simple and unforgiving. Stay quiet. Stay small. Avoid attention.\nThe Diary of Anne Frank follows eight Jewish people forced into hiding as persecution intensifies\, legal protections disappear\, and simply existing becomes a threat to their very survival. In close quarters\, fear\, hope\, and tension live side by side\, and safety is never guaranteed.\nThis story endures because it is not only a record of the past\, but a reminder of what can happen when fear is allowed to decide who belongs.\n Showtimes:\nFeb 6th\, 7th\, 13th & 14th @ 7PM\nFeb 8th & 12th @ 2PM\n\n Tickets are on sale now: \nhttps://ci.ovationtix.com/35929/production/1263565
