DESCRIPTION:The first-place winner of the Billie Holiday Vocal Competition and semi-finalist in the American Traditions Competition\, jazz vocalist Sara Jones has toured 49 states and performed in numerous concert halls across the country. \nJones has performed as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra\, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra\, and Ravinia Festival Orchestra\, under the batons of Emil de Cou and Erich Kunzel. An additional highlight includes a solo performance on the Esplanade with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Orchestra. In the Baltimore/Washington area\, Jones was a featured vocalist with the Jazz Ambassadors and has graced the stages of the Hippodrome Theater\, Meyerhoff Symphony Hall\, Strathmore Mansion\, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. \nJones\, who began her musical career as a pianist\, received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and her Master of Music in Piano Accompanying at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. After graduation\, she chose to pursue a professional vocal career with the Soldiers’ Chorus of the U.S. Army Field Band\, where she served for six years. Now a civilian\, Jones maintains an active performing schedule and has a CD recording\, Daydream A Little on Petite Musique Records. A collection of beloved jazz standards and bossa novas\, it features Jones and major Brazilian Jazz Group\, Trio Da Paz. Jones’ schedule can be found on her website\, sarajones.com. \nAlso a former educator\, Jones was a professor at Towson University where she taught Jazz and Commercial Voice and directed the Towson Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Recent engagements for Jones include a performance by the Sara Jones Trio at the 2024 Monterey Jazz Festival in Monterey\, CA\, and a guest artist appearance in 2025 with the Buffalo Symphony and Chesapeake Symphony Orchestra. In 2026\, Jones will appear with the Columbia Orchestra and the Spokane Symphony.

DESCRIPTION:In response to people who have been wondering\, here is information on upcoming concerts this season! \nJuly 1-America at 250 \nJuly 8-Broadway Lights\, Hollywood Lights \nJuly 15th-Around the World in 80 minutes \nJuly 22nd-Assistant Director’s Choice! \nJuly 29th-Music\, Magic and Memories-for Children of all ages! \nAugust 5th-All Good Things \nAugust 12th-Rain date for a makeup concert if needed. \n\nIn addition\, the band will be performing at the Scandinavian Festival on July 18th from 4-5 PM in the Ice Arena downtown. Members of the band will also be taking part in the 4th of July parade in Mayville\, the Ellington Town Picnic and the CLSC parade at Chautauqua Institution.\nReminder that all the concerts in Allen Park are free and run from 7-9 PM\, and the programs are subject to change if we have a rainout. If we do have to cancel due to rain\, updates will be posted here on this page. Please like us on Facebook so you don’t miss any updates. A self-described “old soul” much of his musical tastes revolve around songs of the 50s\, 60s\, and 70s. \nWhile he can usually be seen performing bass guitar with his bands Backlog and The Hazy Rays throughout Western New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania\, he can also occasionally be spotted in and around the Jamestown area with an acoustic guitar performing several classic rock tunes along with a handful of original songs. \nThis will be his second appearance at the Reg Lenna’s monthly Memory Cafe series and he looks forward to taking a trip down memory lane with all in attendance! \nMemory Café at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts is a FREE respite and arts program for people with forgetfulness or other changes in their thinking (including cognitive decline\, dementia or Alzheimer’s) as well as their care partner\, family\, or friends. \nParticipants are welcome to enjoy music performances\, crafts and easy\, appropriate activities to spark friendly social interaction.
