DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce our first summer camps! Join us for Hands-on History Camp at the Busti Historical Society. July 14-18 for students in 1st through 3rd grade\, and July 21-25 for students in 4th through 6th grade\, 9 am to noon. Students will explore the 1839 grist mill and grounds\, learn about life in the 1800s\, and try their hand at some historic skills. Only $150 per week. SUMMARY:Space STEM Camp
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, Martz-Kohl Observatory and Falconer Central Schools are thrilled to offer Western NY and Northwest PA students entering grades 7 through 9 a weeklong Space STEM Camp experience. The day camp will be held July 14 – 18\, 2025. Registration is now open! \n\nStudents will learn about the history of space observations and explorations\, build and keep their own Galileo-type telescopes\, learn how to use the 24″ telescope at the observatory\, and build and launch model rockets. Campers are immersed in exciting activities around the physics of light and stars\, chemistry\, physiology\, astronomy\, international space policy and aerospace engineering and design. Students will have a chance to view and learn the night skies through the lens of the observatory telescopes and will become part of a community of star gazers. Returning as our guest speaker this year is Dr. Alexandra Yep\, who will join an impressive staff of local astronomers\, physicists\, professors and other professionals committed to creating an unforgettable experience for our youth.\n\nCamp will run daily M\, T\, Th\, and F from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesday\, camp will run from approximately 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. so students can view the night sky at the observatory.

DM me with any questions. \n\nDates: July 10-13\, 2025\nPlace: Allegany State Park\, Salamanca\, NY\nWho is this camping trip for?\nThis weekend is designed for folks in plus-size or fat bodies— US sizes 18–30+ or 1X–7X. All genders welcome. Ages 18 and up.\nDo I need to be outdoorsy or have experience camping?\nNot at all. This is a gentle\, welcoming introduction to being outside. Whether you’ve never camped or you’re already into it\, you’ll be supported.\n*We will be tent camping so you must be comfortable getting up and down from the ground.\nWhat’s included?\nMorning yoga\, hikes\, crafts\, a shared meal\, time to rest and connect—all held in a fat-positive\, judgment-free space. Everything is optional.\nDo I have to participate in everything?\nNope! Choose your own adventure. Join in for the things that feel good to you and skip the rest.\n\nCost:$40 or $50 (depending on if you do a shared meal).
