What’s Our Terroir? Wine Tastings from Dry to Sweet

June 9 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
$99

Chautauqua Institution is just ten miles south of one of the great grape-growing regions in North America. The wines made here in Western NY and Pennsylvania are influenced by a unique combination of geography, soils, slope, weather, and viticultural traditions – which are not unlike those found in Germany. These elements, together, define our “terroir” – which has a Germanic micro-climate. Our Estate has 100 acres of vineyards with thirteen varieties of grapes – including vinifera, French-hybrids, and American grapes – all used to make over 40 award-winning wines. Recent awards include Pinot Noir – Best of Class, 2024 Finger Lakes Wine Comp., Niagara, Best of Class, 2025 LA Int’l Wine Competition. This wine tasting, led by staff from Johnson Estate Winery will feature a selection of wines, all made from estate-grown grapes that range from dry to sweet. Ages 21+.
Fee: 1 session • $99
