Vinyasa – Flow (Jivamukti) with Karen Heckel-Marmorato

🗓️ Every Friday, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

🌟 Class Description:

Open to practitioners of all levels, this Vinyasa – Flow (Jivamukti) class is designed to let you work at your own pace. You’ll follow the teacher’s verbal instructions and hands-on guidance. Asana options are provided for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students.

An open class presents classical yoga teachings as relevant to one’s life on and off the mat, drawn from Jivamukti’s Focus of the Month essay. The class includes chanting, breath awareness, flowing vinyasa sequences, alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, deep relaxation with aromatherapy and massage. All open classes include asana, meditation, and spiritual teachings in a creatively designed sequence. Exuberant, eclectic music, ranging from Indian ragas and the Beatles to global trance, plays an integral role, along with inspirational recorded spoken word teachings.

The class is called “Open” because it is suitable for all levels.

🌿 About Jivamukti Yoga:

The Jivamukti Yoga method, created by David Life and Sharon Gannon in 1984, is one of the nine internationally recognized styles of Hatha Yoga. It is a physical, ethical, and spiritual practice, combining a vigorous Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa-based physical style with adherence to five central tenets: shastra (scripture), bhakti (devotion), ahimsa (non-violence), nada (sound), and dhyana (meditation). Animal rights, veganism, environmentalism, and social activism are also emphasized.
