The Sensational History of Chautauqua County

We are launching a series of history lectures in 2026. The first talk will take place Saturday January 31st at 2 pm in the meeting room at the Busti Historical Society. Chautauqua County Historian Norman Carlson will be presenting his talk on the Sensational History of Chautauqua County: legends, rumors, panics, ghosts, crimes, and hoaxes. A mishmash of some of the most peculiar, puzzling, and fascinating incidents of the last 200 years. Chautauqua County in the “twilight zone.” Come join us to learn more about some of our exciting history.
Admission is free, donations gratefully accepted.
