As parents, our children’s safety is the one thing we all lose sleep over.
I’m reaching out to our community today not just as a member of Valley Outdoors, but as a fellow parent. We all teach our kids “stranger danger,” but the sad reality is that today’s threats are often more subtle than a “creepy van.”
That’s why I am so incredibly proud that Sean Strong will be offering the “Tricky People: Kids Safety Workshop” right here in our community at Valley Outdoors on January 10th.
This isn’t a lecture; it’s a hands-on empowerment course designed to give kids real tools. They learn to spot the warning signs of “tricky people” (who aren’t always obvious strangers), how to use their voices, and practical self-defense techniques to get away and get help. The instruction is world-class, led by certified experts with over 50 years of combined law enforcement and special forces experience.
I genuinely believe this is some of the most important training a child can receive outside of school. If you have children ages 5 and up, please consider looking into this. Let’s work together to make sure our community’s kids are confident and prepared.
