Paint the Town PURPLE!

October 2 - October 15

💜 Paint the Town PURPLE! 💜💜
Join the Community for Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), and we are asking the entire Jamestown community to help us Paint the Town Purple!
Purple is the symbolic color of the anti-domestic violence movement. By shining a light on this issue, we raise awareness, break the silence, and show survivors in our community that they are seen, supported, and not alone.
Here’s How You Can Participate:
WEAR IT PURPLE: Show your solidarity by wearing purple throughout the month, especially on Purple Thursday (a national day of awareness, typically in October).
LIGHT IT PURPLE: Businesses and residents—light up your windows, porches, or storefronts with purple lights.
DISPLAY IT PURPLE: Create purple-themed displays at your home, office, or organization. Use ribbons, signs, or any creative way to show your support.
ATTEND THE WALK: Don’t forget to join the Walk Against Domestic Violence: The Walk Home this Friday, October 3rd, at Noon starting at Jamestown City Hall! Wear your purple and walk with us.
Let’s turn Jamestown purple to send a powerful, visible message of hope, support, and a commitment to ending domestic violence in Chautauqua County.
For support or to learn more about local services, please reach out to the providers in the Chautauqua County Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
