Lakewood Memorial Library is excited to host local artist, Deb Penley and her exhibit, ” Of Wool & Whimsy” for the month of January. Her stunning fiber works will be on display, inviting viewers into her magical world, with an opening reception to take place on Thursday, January 9th at 5pm.
Debbie Penley is a multimedia artist with a recent concentration in fiber art. Her work ranges from the realistic and lifelike to the abstract and whimsical. She enjoys the tactile qualities of her work, and is often amazed at the almost magical transformation of the raw materials from a fluid state into something more enduring and solid. She finds that ideas often grab hold of her and don’t let go until they appear, fully materialized, in the medium of her choice. Her hope is to connect with the viewer in a way that transports them to the world as seen through her eyes.
