• Tour of the Historic South Dayton Depot:
The South Dayton Depot, built in 1875, offers a fascinating tour of its historic building. The northeast corner of the freight room is dedicated to William Neubeck, a longtime station agent and telegrapher who retired in 1980 and was honored in 2022. Restored in 2007, the depot also features a movie theatre, with the freight room home to the iconic ticket window used in Robert Redfords famous movie “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.”
• Explore and shop delicious treats from “Gert’s Girls” (4 generations of women) at the Farmers Market, featuring their farms: TNK Produce N More, Silver Falls Farms & Shady Roost Farms. They offer a wide variety of homemade baked goods, all crafted with locally sourced ingredients, including pies, brownies, cookies, scones, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, and more. You’ll also find seasonal produce, cheeses, jams, breads, and more. Don’t forget to check out the homemade soaps, candles, fabric aprons, bags, jewelry, and other unique items!
