Media Review Club: How To Read & Make Zines

New Program! Join us on the 3rd Monday of each month to read, watch, or listen to excerpts of popular media and then engage in a deeper discussion centered on media literacy. Learn how to safely and responsibly identify bias, AI, or misinformation, analyze how media shapes our view of the world, and even how to create your own media. Each month we’ll explore different formats (poetry, music, graphic novels, podcasts, and more.)

For the month of September, learn about Zines: a fun and endlessly creative way to share information. Started in the 1930s by science fiction fans, and then a favorite of 1970s Punk rockers, this media style has a cool history of allowing people to let their voices be heard. Learn about popular Zine sources, how they’re used today, and create your own to share with friends or add to our library.
