You might be surrounded by it every winter, but have you ever taken a closer look at the snow and ice? Learn more about how it is formed and its unique structure from the smallest snowflake to the largest snow bank.

Delve deeper with some snow experiments to figure out how snowflakes form and learn how snowbanks can help animals survive the winter during an indoor lesson. Then, if the weather allows, dig right into the snowbanks themselves outside to look closely at individual snowflakes and tunnel down through the snow layers.

A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time.

Special Information: This program takes place rain or shine, please dress for the weather.

Snow and ice are two common winter sights, but they form in different ways. Learn more about snow and ice at ACNC’s Little Explorers on January 10.
