Light The Lake 2026

 Light the Lake is a July 4th tradition on Chautauqua Lake.

This annual event is brought to you by the Chautauqua Lake Association, with thanks to the many local retailers and lake friends who support our annual flare sale every year.

Pick up your flares today, and let’s get ready to line the shores of Chautauqua Lake with a warm red glow.

Flares should be lit at 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.  Each flare lasts 30 minutes.

They are $3.50 each or 3 for $10, with proceeds supporting the CLA’s summer in-lake programs.

Once your flare has burned out, let it cool fully before handling, as they can stay hot for up to 15 minutes after the flame is gone.
