Lecture: 50th Anniversary of the King of Sweden’s Visit

King Gustaf XVI of Sweden visited Jamestown 50 years ago. Why? And where did he go? Fenton Executive Director Joni Blackman will share pictures from the day along with insights from those who were involved in the historic visit. A companion exhibit will be opened following the lecture.
The 2026 Fenton History Center Lecture Series features evening lectures between April and October. This event is free and open to the public. Lectures are held in the dining room at the Gov. Reuben Fenton mansion. They are also streamed via Facebook. Donations are appreciated to support the Fenton History Center’s mission to preserve local history and provide educational opportunities.
