Fredonia’s College Symphony Orchestra, directed by Emily Schaad, will take the stage with pianist and concerto winner Mario Qing Fei Chai. This program will feature Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé Suite, originally composed in 1933 as a film soundtrack, and the turbulent Tragic Overture by Brahms. Chai will perform Liszt’s Totentanz, or “Dance of the Dead,” virtuosic variations on Dies Irae for piano and orchestra.
