Join farm owner and operator, Ginny Carlberg to learn about the successes, challenges, and joys of farming in the western New York region.
Ginny Carlberg and her husband, Eric, farm together in not just one farm business, but two. Eric’s family farm is on Carlberg Road outside of Jamestown where they milk 120 Holstein cows and raise three kids. Eric and Ginny purchased another farm just down the road in 2018 and began produce and sheep farming.
Between the two businesses, Ginny will share her knowledge of what it is like to farm in today’s world, and how they have adapted their farm operations to be both efficient and environmentally friendly, and how they have found their niche in the local community and food system.
Ginny Carlberg is a 2008 graduate of Cornell University with a BA in Animal Science. She grew up on a small dairy farm and worked off-farm for almost ten years, first at Cornell Cooperative Extension, then Farm Credit East, and finally NY FarmNet (2018-Present) before farming full-time.
Special Information: If you’d like to bring a packed lunch, you can visit attendees and the speaker after the program.
