Comedy Open Mic @ Wicked Warren’s Jamestown

Starting Wednesday, July 1st, we’re opening the doors to a new weekly comedy open mic at Wicked Warren’s Jamestown.

Every Wednesday from 7PM to 9PM, we’ll be upstairs on the 3rd floor in the new ballroom, bar, and stage area, trying to do something simple and weirdly important:

Build the local comedy and art scene back up from the floorboards.

This is a comedian-focused open mic, but all art is welcome. Comedy, poetry, storytelling, music, strange little performance experiments, something you wrote on a napkin in a parking lot while your life briefly became a weather event. Bring it up.

Sign ups start at 6:30PM.

Each performer gets 8 minutes.

There will be a 15 minute hard cap if the night allows for longer pieces, but please plan for 8 unless told otherwise.

If you need anything beyond a mic, stage, and PA, please let Paul Clemente know ahead of time.

If you don’t know Paul Clemente, get to know him. He is around.

A few house notes:

No hate speech.

When it is your turn, please keep the setup to a minimum so we can keep the night moving.

Be kind to first-timers.

Listen to the performers.

Support the room you want to exist.

Depending on momentum, we’ll try to make one Wednesday a month a mixed open mic focused on outsider art forms, weird ideas, unusual performances, and the kind of creative stuff that does not always have a normal place to land.

This is for comics.

This is for artists.

This is for people who used to have a scene and miss it.

This is for people who never had one and want in.
