Ashville Library Book Club

February 16, 2026 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Ashville Library Book Club is open to New Members!

Meetings are held every second month on the 3rd Monday of the month at Ashville Library at 4 pm EXCEPT for the months of July and September. These are held outdoors at the pavilion at the Whittier Apple Farm and Event Center, usually at 6 pm.
Book selection for November 2025 is Passionate Mothers, Powerful Sons: The Lives of Jennie Jerome Churchill and Sara Delano Roosevelt by Charlotte Gray. Mary Rappole will be the discussion leader for November.
We are a bit out of sync as our September 15 meeting has been rescheduled to October 20 at ALBC. Book selection is West With Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge, and the discussion leader is Robyn Steele. Several members have already shared that this is their favorite book of the year!
Our bi-monthly meetings are held in January, March, and May. July, September, and November.
Members, in November, select books for the upcoming year.
Members who recommend a book then act as discussion leaders.
So our meetings are informal, fun, and have an underlying structure.
We read a wide range of books. We revisit classics. We read from the bestseller lists and from the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle selections. We read the Chautauqua County “Big Read” selections, We read historical fiction and biographies. We read what we like.

We are a welcoming group. We would love to have new members join us. Please contact Secretary Dinah Hovey, for further information. Email diannehovey@gmail.com or call 716.782.4342
