1A Day: Exploring the First Amendment

January 30 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

The First Amendment of the Bill of Rights: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

What does it mean… like really mean? Where are its limits? Are there limits!?! How does it impact our political and daily life?

Experience the First Amendment in action at the Robert H. Jackson Center’s 1A Day Celebration, where local cultural organizations bring constitutional freedoms to life through fun, interactive exhibits and performances throughout our historic venue, honoring Justice Jackson’s legacy of protecting these fundamental rights.

Free and open to the public, this event is presented by the Robert H. Jackson Center in partnership with JCC, the James Prendergast Library Association, The Fenton History Center, St. Bonaventure University’s Jandoli School of Communication and more!
