One of the most inspiring events of the year is finally here! It is time for the residents of Chautauqua County to come together and vote for the best businesses, non-profits, and bands in their community. The Post-Journal and The Observer are organizing the Best of the Best Readers’ Choice awards contest. You can click the link below to go over and vote:
Residents of Chautauqua County nominated all of the contestants listed. They believe that their local restaurant has the best food, their landscaper never misses a blade of grass, and the clothing store down the road has the best selection out of anyone!
The process is fun, and gives everyone a chance to promote their favorite businesses for free! Just getting nominated and listed in a category is extremely helpful, as it shines a light on them. If someone goes into a category to vote and sees a new business there as well as the business they would normally visit, it can encourage them to visit a new establishment or use a new service!
I would encourage everyone to not only go in and vote for the businesses they want to vote for but also see who else is listed! There are a ton of small business owners in our community who work their tails off to give us the best experience possible. If you see a new business listed that you think you would like to try out, write it down, give it a call, or pop down into the shop! That’s the kind of community support that Chautauqua is known for and we can always be improving upon.

As we get into the first round of voting, we want to educate ourselves here at My CHQ about all of the nominees! We will be contacting, meeting with, and learning more about the people who run these businesses, bands, non-profits, and more!
We will likely not be able to chat with everyone nominated before the first round closes out, but throughout October, we hope to meet with everyone before round 2 concludes!

Our main goal is to educate the voters even more about the businesses that surround them, but might not know about. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve heard people recommend a business, and the other party had no idea who they were!
Let’s all give these hard-working business owners the platform they deserve, and don’t forget to vote for your favorites and visit the ones you learn about!
