Community Conversation: Welcoming & Belonging

During Welcoming Week, in partnership with the Jamestown Justice Coalition and the Robert H. Jackson Center, NNC is hosting a Community Conversation with local leaders to discuss what welcoming and belonging looks like in different spaces.
Panelists:
– Daniel DeMarte, President of Jamestown Community College
– Michael Edwards, Director of Jamestown Renaissance Corporation
– Patricia Graves, Director of Chadakoin Valley Project
– Twan Leenders, Director of Conservation at Everwild Land Trust
Kristen McMahon, President of the Robert H. Jackson Center, will moderate the conversation.
Join the conversation on how different sectors, including higher education, conservation, urban development, and local history, contribute to a Jamestown where everyone can belong.
Cultivating a welcoming community requires a multifaceted approach. It means collectively investing in and supporting spaces where everyone is treated with dignity and can shape and impact the communities they live in.
Belonging takes place in all spaces and in many ways. Our sense of belonging is influenced by our neighborhoods, our schools, our parks, our historical institutions, and, above all, by our relationships with one another.
This event is free and open to the public.
