The program will feature Liz Gabalski who will give a a presentation on a local woman who left her mark on history, Catherine Harris.

Elizabeth Gabalski’s previous course of study in Social Studies Education, combined with a love of local history have brought her to her current role as Education Coordinator with the Fenton History Center. Through this position, she extends the Fenton’s educational reach beyond the walls of the historic Governor’s Mansion by speaking to local groups, educating in area classrooms, tabling at community events, managing several of the Fenton’s social media platforms, and more.

As one of the earliest Black women to make her home in Jamestown, Catherine Dickes Harris built a life centered on family, caregiving, and service to her community in addition to her more commonly recognized role as a conductor on the Underground Railroad.
