Hosted by the Friends of Chautauqua Visual Arts, Art in the Park is an open art fair with 75+ vendors held twice each summer season in Miller Park. Art in the Park showcases art by members of the Chautauqua community, artists-in-residence from the School of Art, and artisans from the region around Chautauqua Institution. Items for sale include ceramics, paintings, prints, Chautauqua-themed trinkets, pieces made of upcycled materials, homemade soaps, hand-dyed silk clothing, organic cosmetics, embellished handbags, pet treats, and fine jewelry. Art in the Park also offers entertainment featuring local talent. This event is always planned for Sundays when admission to Chautauqua Institution is free to allow accessibility for members of the surrounding community and Institution residents alike. Proceeds from the entrance fee paid by artists are used for exhibitions at the Strohl and Fowler-Kellogg Art Centers as well as to fund scholarships for Artists in Residence at the Chautauqua School of Art.
